2008 USA Championships Results Summary
This was the 3rd year for the Disney's Street Hockey Cup at the beautiful Wide World of Sports in Orlando Fl. 34 teams and over 600 players participated at two of the finest indoor rinks in the world, (175' x 75' ) played on MS3 Solid SportsSurface. Teams came from many many cities in Canada & the USA to enjoy fast paced, clean Street Hockey . Many great games and plenty of upsets paved the way for a great tournament

Sr C Leominster Ma Assassins 4-2 New Jersey Spartans After a scoreless first period the Assassins Jim Taebas tipped in teammates Chris Morrison's nifty pass. The Spartans then scored twice by Craig Leopoldi both unassissted 30 seconds apart to take a 2-1 lead. Assassins's Taebas came right back 14 seconds into the 3rd, assisted by Bobby Housser and then with 5 minutes left notched the winner, Morrison & Matt Levesque assisting. Bobby Housser added an empty netter for insurance. Dennis Beaupre was outstanding in net for the ASSASSINS

Sr D Quebec Jo Mailloux 6-1 Charlevoix Comidic Fire Jo Mailloux from Quebec City vs rival Charlevoix Comidic Fire looked like a classic final as the teams were 0-0 after the 1st period. Then the young team Mailloux took command as Guillame Roy notched the first of his 3 goals & one assist. Nick Richard scored the 2nd goal fro the Jo before Martin Blais made it 2-1. Mailloux other goals from Marco Normandin & JD Labrie rounded out the scoring. Goalie Max Laberge played great in net for the winners.

Oldtimers Gold Medal Game Boucher Flyers Ma 4-2 New Jersey Phantoms The NJ Phantoms struck first on a goal by TJ Lombardo, Craig Alleva assisting, 3 minutes into the game, Flyers Bruce Fortunato tied it with a blast a minute later assisted by Mark O'Neil & Craig Holman. Mark Holman notched back to back goals to put the Flyers up 3-1, O'Neil and Dave Breshnahan assisted. Boucher's netminder Steve Boucher turned away several scoring bids by the Phantoms, then Craig Holman made the lead 4-1, assisted by Tom Gallagher & Oneil his 3rd assist of the game. NJ closed the gap with a minute left, when team leader Ken Bergeron slipped a shot into the Flyers net.
